Consider this to be another vote for project documents to be in PDF form.
PDFs can be made with a resolution that can be read, whereas with gif/jpg
you walk the line between having things small, or having them readable. PDF
(Or any vectored format, really) are good for both size and legibility.
They also allow notes to be kept in the same file, such as a bill of
materials, any interesting instructions, etc. Easier than haivng to
download a gif, plus a text file, then always be careful to keep them together.
Also, having a good description, with maybe some smaller pics at the index
page for the PDFs can help, too.
