Just to mention it, the mechanical chorus generator in the
Hammond ("Scanner Vibrato") was the thing that inspired
me to build the Interpolating Scanner.
I never found the time the build a inductor-less replica
of the "Line Box" (the other crucial part of the Hammond
vibrato, basically a high order fixed frequency LPF with
many taps after individual stages), but I'm sure if you want
to get as close as possible to the real thing, this is the way to
do it. I would not use BBDs here.
(The Korg BX-3 had a decent BBD-based Chorus Vibrato,
but not very close to the original.)
