I personally prefer that the images are on a different page.  I often find 
that images bcome spread across page breaks, etc and it makes the printed 
pages akward to use.  If the pictures are under a different link, you can be 
assured that they will be printed in a more readable format.

This also makes the initial page load faster, and some visitors may not want 
to look at all of the images...
