Exactly, I would not use solid wire anytime there is a 
chance that it will be flexed (99% of the time). For 
shorter lengths, just rip some out of a dead stereo or VCR.

AND be enough of a packrat to hang onto the stuff that long 
(not a problem for me!). And somehow pick the right stuff 
to save (or just save everything, like I do ;-).
