OK, Arabic (and Hebrew) ARE right-to-left. I've had to work with both 
in PageMaker ME. It's actually not that strange since the characters 
are totally different to begin with.

Chinese (and Japanese), on the other hand, is left-to-right--when 
it's horizontal. Vertical is another story, which is why all the 
Japanese manga I've ever seen is bound "backwards". Fortunately, I've 
always worked with horizontal (using FrameMaker), otherwise I would 
be much more confused than I already am.

Then there's Thai, which has no spaces between words but is supposed 
to have word breaks at the end of lines. THAT was fun--none of our 
programmers could figure out how to do it, which left it up to 
you-know-who... 8\
