I've always been happy with the Analog Devices AD7523 or AD7524, the '24
having a latching input register. Could also use the venerable DAC-08.
For a PIC, you could simply use discrete resistors (10K, 20K) in R-2R
fashion and a voltage follower if you want the lowest-cost solution.
