Before buying a microscope(!!!!!)
try those jeweller/hobbyist things that are
just two magnifier lenses that clip onto
your glasses.
Also, purists will (rightly) blanch, but I have
a professional EE friend who prototypes sm stuff
by just putting a blob of solder all along the side
of a chip in one continuous line, then wicks the excess off.
Well, he says it works for him & I've seen his gear..
Btw I only just noticed the similarity between sn and S&M.
I guess the users are the Ms here & the manufacturers the Ss.
