soldersucking - desoldering station advice?

These machines work great. There are two important tips I can give to reduce
woe:

1. Keep the vacuum line clean!!!! Usually the hollow tip or glass waste
reservoir will plug and reduce suction. Always clean before using.

2. Use tips with diameters that match the pad size. You can get anything
from huge tips to tiny ones. The ability to quickly transfer heat from the
tip to the pad and its plated through hole is dependent on the tip to pad
mating. The hole in the tip should also cover the through hole.
