Hear, hear! I am looking foreword to putting all my work on my website,
schematics and all, and having my work praised/trashed/made fun of by all these
folks that I am so fond of. I wouldn't have it any other way!!

Subject: Love this list (server)
Hi all
I just want to say how much this list means for me. I have learned a great deal
from this
list. Not just electronics, I have learned about good people and what I think
are better
ideals to live by (this sounds like bad english).
But as far as electronics, let me say the following: I always thought I had a
nak, but the
truth is I know very little. And the little I know, I have learned on SYNTH
DIY. In fact
I
have often wondered how I could possibly return the favor to all the special
people on
this
list.
Perhaps now I can ofer something.... I am setting up a little server in the
next few
days.
Its not ready yet (don´t have an IP adress yet), but when it is, I would like to
make some
room for Synth DIY. I don´t know how it could be used by the list, but some
things have
come up here and there, where the list has needed a place to store info.
So if any of you have any ideas how my server could be useful to the Synth DIY
comunity,
please let me know.
I guess its worth saying that my connection to the WWW is going to be expensive,
so I
do plan to offer hosting (I think reasonably cheap) to help me pay for the fiber
optic
conection. But I would not charge anything for something thats for the Synth
DIY
community. I guess that the only restriction I would have to impose on the list
is that
whatever we do on my server stays legal and respects everyone on the list... oh,
and I
can´t offer unlimited space, I am starting with about five gigs, but if I get
customers, I
will
have to make their space available. Anyway, thats not a big issue, one could
always buy
more disk space.
Please send your ideas.
