Same here. I've been on the list the same amount of time and find it
incredibly friendly and useful. And I can probably draw a VCA off the top
of my head, but not a VCO. I am building my own modular, strictly for my
own use, and I'm glad there are resources out there to help me: Web sites,
PCB sales, and kit sales. I don't care *how* these designs are available to
me as long as they are. If I have to buy a kit to see the schematic, I'm
willing. If I have to design and burn my own PCB, I'm willing too.

Exactly. I am not trying to make money from this hobby and probably never
will. I already have a real job. (Well, not very real. I'm a writer.) Maybe
some day I'll design my own circuits, and maybe I'll even sell PCBs or
kits, but I'm sure the profit margin will be small to nonexistent.
I plan to spend lots of money supporting TomG and Paul and Tony and PaIa
and anyone else who will make it easier for me to get something working.

That's a good choice, I built one. As someone who had never built a
synthesizer (but had built a few non-synth kits) it was nothing but a
pleasant experience. Good instructions, good PCB, and after a week's work,
a good synthesizer. I just finished a PaIa MIDI2CV8, so now I can start
building other stuff and have a way to control it...

Me too! Don't anyone go declaring it prematurely dead!
