Sad story, reminds me that we all have costly equipment, especially
such equipment that can not be bought from shelf, be it rare or
even unique.
There are transient absorbers that simply look like a plug,
if they work it would be convenient.
I'd at least by one for my fax/voice/modem, because this is always up.
The rest of my machines is off when idle (two pole switch).
Any knowledge if they are worth the money? What happens in the case of
common mode transients?
