If you have a higher impedance driver (1K or more...) then an op-amp will
drive it fine...
I've always found the LM387 a little squirrely to use...
Running op-amps in bridge mode would double the drive available...
Hell run a VCO output direct into the spring... it sounds really cool when it
resonates to
the point of clanging against itself...
