This is cool WAS: Pretty quiet around here lately

I have to echo what JGW says here with a twist. I am relatively new to the
synth-diy list compared to many of you veterans. And, I do not have the EE
degree to strike out completely on my own from scratch. However, I am
interested in re-building my electronics skills (learned back in the 70s)
and building a modular synth. Both sides of the house have been helpful to
me here. For one, I have received a lot of good and free advice from many
list members. And for that, I say thanks. But, that alone would not have
been enough to get me started. While I have been here I have seen the
startup of MOTM and resurgence in Blacet and others. I have learned
greatly from building Paul's and John's kits and actually have something
that works well as I explore my DIY modules. I now have one DIY module
complete and several in the works. So, I think there is room for a little
"my stuff is for sale" when it comes from the true love of synths and
desire to share. Both Paul and John include full schematics. And, Paul's
"theory of operation write ups have been great learning tools for me. I am
certain that JGW is correct that more lucrative endeavors are out there.
If not for the labor of love associated with synth building, I can't
imagine why anyone would try to sell to a bunch of DIYers. <grin> Civility
is indeed IN on this list more than any other I have been on. And JGW and
RS both hit the nail on the head about the sharing of inspiration.
