In the midst of working on modularized my Oberheim Two-voice I had a 
similar experience. Fortunately I only hot-glued the mounting rails 
to the cabinet, and they snapped right off. I had to loosen the knobs 
on two of the frequency controls but otherwise no damage.

I glued them back--a bit further back.
