Well the Mini Modular is just about done and I will be offering it
directly (many thanks to Grant and Wiard for invaluable assistance
though!). I am ordering PCBs and will be ordering front panels and
probably chassis boxes in the next few days. Here's a link to the new
website with more details:
http://209.238.206.208/
Sorry for the numeric address, my hosting company switched servers and
it will take a few days for "minimodular.com" to be active.
Here are some price estimates:
PCB kit: $80 (includes board, one programmed PIC,
two tempco resistors, basic instructions,
you buy all other parts, probably $100 worth)
Front Panel: $60 (punched with all holes,
two color silkscreen graphic)
Chassis Box: $40 (sheet metal box with rear mounting
holes for MIDI & power connector)
So my question is, does anybody want one (or more) of these at such
prices? I am trying to estimate how much (if any) demand there is. If
you are interested, please send me an email indicating what you would be
likely to want.
Please keep in mind that this is not necessarily a quick & simple build,
there are over 400 components to solder. Definitely not a good first
kit I think, there's a lot of soldering and the directions will assume
an experienced builder. Also note that the front panel is fairly
necessary as it provides mechanical strength, (unless you plan to hand
wire different jacks & pots to your own custom panel).
Thanks,
Chris MacDonald
