>Solderless breadboards SUCK !!!
Actually, I quite like them for certain things. True, I wouldn't try to
get a half decent VCO to work on one. But, I do think for little things
with a few components they are quite good. My little LFO design was
built on solderless breadboard, before I designed the PCB for it.
On another note, my normal method of prototyping is to use Veroboard.
However, I have discovered a problem when using this type of board. If
you use washable-flux solder, then the water will wet the bonded paper
board and effect the board's resistance. Obvious now, when I think about
it, but could I work out why my VC-LFO design wouldn't go below 0.5Hz?
No, I couldn't, so I gave up on it and threw it into the depths of the
cupboard. When I calmed down a few days later, I was pleasantly
surprised to find it went down to cycles per hour... after it had dried
off properly.
