Acoustic thingy in module sized

Could you like fold a stovepipe up small
enough to fit in a module enclosure?
I mean it would be so cool to have an acoustic
processor that fit into a small box.
Like take a slinky and fold it all up,
glue a speaker and a mike to it,
wrap it in duct tape for acoustic isolation,
and cram it into an aquarium filled with Jello....
I wonder what THAT would sound like?
The "Marshall Time Modulator"
was basically a garden hose with a speaker
and a mike coupled to it with kitchen funnels.
And that was British! Shocking really,
I mean you expect that sort of thing from
Americans.
I recently found a book on speech synthesis,
in the historical section they detailed a kind
of trumpet which was a soft rubber model
of the human trachea, with a reed vibrator
at the back which could be made to speak
by a trained operator (diagram attached).
I toyed with the idea of putting a micro-processor
controlled rubber trachea in a module with a set of
motorized plastic lips on the front that would
form acoustic formant filters under voltage control.
We had some backing for the idea, but then we found
they were from the sex toys industry ;^)
