You know, there has always been a very healthy DIY community in Japan.   In 
the 1980's there were magazines that were full of synth & music DIY projects, 
several companies that made very sophisticated DIY kits, and there still are 
a few nice DIY hi-fi magazines (lots of esoteric tube audio stuff).  It would 
be great to get some of those people involved in our group.  I don't think 
language is really the main barrier - most of the native Japanese that I met 
(on several trips I have taken there) have spoken English to a usable degree. 
 All of the musicians that I met spoke English.  How can we encourage them to 
participate?  I wonder if there is a Japanese group similar to ours?
