>I have an ARP Avatar with pickup but no cable. Therefore, I'm trying to
find a source for the connector coming off the hexaphonic pickup to make
my own cable. It's 6 pin, arranged circularly with a radius of about .25".
The weird part is that the "circle" is split in half with half being male
and half female. That is there are 3 pins and 3 sockets in each
connector. So two of the same connector can be connected together (I
guess there are no male/female types). A friend told me they've seen
similar connectors used for video. Anyone have a source for (a) an Avatar
cable, (b) this type of connector, (c) a general connector mecca that
might carry it? Thanks.

Hi Dave:

This sounds exactly like a connector that Lemo USA makes. I recently
bought two connectors like that for a Tektronics spectrum analyzer I own.
Lemo makes the connectors in several sizes with many options for
backshells, cable clamps, etc. I recommend you get a catalog from them so
you can match up what is on the pickup to what is in the catalog. The
number for Lemo is 800 444-5366.
