I just got a copy of this book, which is out of print.
PAIA lists a contact that may have some copies.
I went through the entire book and low and behold
Hal covered an overview of the design of the Rhodes Chroma,
my favorite synth! He kinda rehashed some of the design
explained in the Chroma service manual, but it was a pleasant
surprise he focused on this synth for a few pages.
For his integrated filter example he cited the SSM2040.
This book is a great history lesson and covers sound generation
techniques quite thoroughly, but only up to the mid 80's.
