MY APOLOGY TO TOMG

Tony/tom/all,

I like toms attitude towards this, he is a very helpful guy,
his site is packed with stuff and is truly amazing... people
who do this stuff cant get it right every time, god knows how
many versions of prohet5 software there are and have you
seen the MOD list for the mini moog, its 50+ pages of A4,
so the thing about pcb versions is nonsense.

Theres nothing wrong with trying to recreate stuff by using
discrete components its fun and it teachs you a lot about
electronics.. My modular is all discrete, but for a poly synth
I would use CEMs for VCF's and such like, I simply havent
the time (nor pateince) to build 16 discrete VCF's.

As for the minimoog, tony, if you make a clone of that one,
the all transistor version that is, you can put me down for a pcb.... :-)

  Paul

....young yout's of today on this list seem hell bent on reliving the
suffering we all went through back then..i.e. reinventing the wheel...

Suffering? Perhaps. Re-inventing the wheel? Me never :-)

TB303 clone anyone? Moog ladder anyone?

And I loved every minute of it!

Mind you, I have already got several boxes stuffed to the gills with
CEMs. I love them to bits. I have just given my monosynth (4x 3340, 4x
3310) a new Schaeffer front panel, because it deserves it. But for now I
just want to get back to basics. Now where's my minimoog VCO (all
transistor) circuit diagram I can salivate over...
