xavax.com, what happend?

The server is high and dry in the Northwest Atlanta suburbs, but
the backbone of my service provider suffered a fiber cut Friday
night.  They didn't give me any details but implied it was caused
by the hurricane.  I'm not sure I believe that since every town
they service East of Houston is affected.  I also have to wonder
why it has taken 4+ days to repair one cut.  For a single cut to
affect such a large area says something about the redundancy (or
lake thereof) in their network.    I should have known better than
to go with the cheapest bid! :-(

The backbone is supposed to be back up today, but they told me
the same thing Monday and Tuesday so I don't have much confidence
in their estimates.  There isn't much I can do but wait.  You can
either keep trying to access the server or call 888-309-1970 and
dial 5 for status.
