Is this really going to be built? We've been down this road before but here
goes:
Power supply:
Use a real good one.
Oscillators:
Three wide range ANALOG, each with sine, saw, pulse, and triangle waveforms;
Waveform Modulation; sync on two of the oscillators; Osc 2 and 3 can be used
as modulators for FM, Cross Mod, Ring Mod, Filter Mod, Amp Mod. etc...
Analog Noise source w/White, Pink & Red.
Filter(s):
Two would be nice, but one with some variety will suffice; LPF,BPF,BRF,HPF,
AP modes; selectable (or continuously variable) 12dB,18dB,24dB response; VC
Slope; VC Resonance; External input.
VCA(s):
Again, two would be nice; could use one for modulation or one each for the
output from the two filters; have a panable stereo output.
Modulation:
Three assignable ANALOG envelopes with delay; invertable; triggered from
other sources besides just the keyboard.
Two analog LFO's; multi-waveforms; variable wave symetry; VC rate; invertable
triggered from other sources.
Sequencer with multichannel and assignable outputs.
Assignable Wheels for pitch and mod.
An assignable ribbon type controller (this must be really robust)
All CV and Gate/Trigger in/outs should have interface jacks. If not all, then
the remaining should have designated solder pads on the circuit board for
easy modification/upgrading.
Glide: Exponential & Linear; assignable (use as lag processor)
Aftertouch would be a good touch; velocity if it were to be polyphonic.
Case, Layout, Etc...:
Wood would be nice but not necessary; plenty of knobs, but, use only the best
here.Sealed from dust, smoke, etc...; maybe an assignable matrix of encoders
each with it's own 2X16 display; black backround with white legends, maybe
even flourescent; strong casing; panel layout should be so good, a users
manual would be superfluous.
This is all I can think of for now.
Yeah, if you could do this and make it sound good for $1500.00 retail, it
just might sell.
