Finally got a chance to double check and this not true. MIDI is 
factory on the DW-6000. I can't comment on anything else as I don't 
have the docs handy, but I keep wondering if you're thinking of an 
earlier model like the Poly 61 or something. >>

Yes, I was thinking of the Poly 61.  My bad!  Good eye, Terry.

Everything else I said about the differences between the 6000 and 
8000 still goes, though.  Unless I'm, uh, wrong.
