To get more contrast you may use two foils. Also there are foils
made for this purpose, I think in Europe Farnell retails some.
I have laser printer only in office and ink jet at home,
but that's almost useless. It could be possible to print (/w ij)
on thin paper and make it transparent with (olive) oil
and then exposure with UV, but it may be quite desperate
action after all. I think that there are also different kind
of laser printer color brands, the oldest and most environmental
hostile and toxic are supposed to be the best (let's destroy the
nature!).

I have that problem with my Laserjet IIIP. Large foil areas usually don't
print dense enough, so sometimes I fill in and darken these areas with a
Sharpie permanent marker pen.
