I've got the same problems with a LJ series 2. For see-thru foils I usually
print two (or even three) foils and stack these. As UV source I use a Photo
1000W quartz lamp. 40-60 seconds is usual exposure time.
I've lately done many boards with the direct toner transfer, using label
backing stuff. I also have the trouble that traces break and lift off of
the backing, but one of three attempts is nice, and the process is cheap,
so I print it until I get a usable version. The lower toner settings work
best for me. This process is very nice and quick, so that I sometimes even
build prototypes with it. I often have to correct little flaws using a
permanent marker.
