Paul, I did a memory expansion board for my my old Yamaha
(tx816 ?? I don't remember I was so happy to sell it!) sampler
with wire wrap. It was a nightmare!! but it worked.
You use a hand tool to strip the wire then you thread it and
wrap. Run it were you want cut, strip and wrap. There are
battery powered wire guns that do the stripping and wrapping
but last I looked they cost way too much. You only solder
where you need it and it doesn't melt the plastic well at
all. You have to be very careful not to wrap to tightly or
the wire breaks. This is very very easy to do and frustrating!
I don't like it at all! You end up with this mess thats
impossible to modify or repair. Only to be used when all other
options are exhausted.
