   I know this has been done to death... I checked the archive; but I am
   about to start my new modular set up this weekend. I am going to use the
   same format as Paul's MOTM, at least as far as module size. But is it to
   be bananas or 1/4" jack? I really cannot make my mind up. 

For me it's easy...  

Making lots of connections to the outside world is important to me, I
really like normalized connections (you only need a small fraction of
the number of cables) and I have a large collection of guitar cables.

"But bananas can stack."

Yeah, but I always keep a bunch of 1/4-inch Y-adapters around, so in
practice that's not an issue.
