Unfortunately, almost all of the modulation paths for the DW-8000 are done in
its software, so there's not much you can do with analog controls. It would
be possible to hardwire a cutoff frequency offset pot to the filters, so you
could sweep them by hand (while still having some other parameter under
control of the data slider). You could also have an independent manual
filter resonance control. I'll look at the schematics and let you know how
it would be done. No other parameters would be available for analog-style
panel controls.

Another mod that would be possible would be a 2-pole/4-pole filter switch.
The Korg 2069 filter IC already has a 2-pole output, and it isn't even being
used in the 8000 - they only use the 4-pole output. This mod would not
necessarily be trivial, because it would require the fitting of some sort of
8-channel signal routing system, either using several analog switches or
using four small DPDT relays (or one expensive 8PDT relay...). However, it
would definitely give the DW8000 more sonic possibilities, especially if you
like to use it for ethereal pads and string patches. I plan to do this to my
EX8000 one of these days.

The 2-pole/4-pole mod would also be possible in the Poly 800, which uses the
same filter IC. It would be easier to do in the Poly800 though, because that
synth has only one filter chip (the 8000 has eight).
