 Congratulations! The P1 is a wonderful little synth, and well worth
the time it takes to get it running again.

 First, I'd check the connectors on the ribbon cable that connects the
keyboard to the circuit board. This was forever coming loose on the
Pro-One the other synthesist in my early-80s band played. It seems like
I was re-seating this connector before about a quarter of the shows we
did.

 While you're looking at the connector, take a look at the key
contacts. If they are gold plated wires, you're okay. If they're some
squishy grey foam, just quit while you're ahead and get the MIDI to CV
converter. These contacts were notoriously unreliable, and impossible
to find nowadays.
