Methinks your best bet would be to find either an industrial PC board that 
had the driving bits on anyway (some do IIRC) or if it will work with a 
<normal> VGA card then put together a mini PC box with a processor, a big 
multiplex DAC/ADC board for analysing stuff and sending signals  and a 
graphics card....software would want to take control input from the ADC 
bits on there, ie knobs/sliders/whatrever and pass on data via the DAC to 
the multiplexed analogue gear. If you get the softs small enough it'll 
prolly do it without a hard-drive...
