For mounting accelerometers -- which is what you're
doing -- beeswax works pretty good.
For gourmet mounting wax, I'd recommend Petro Wax
by PCB Piezotronics. Very Good Stuff.
It even comes with charts showing wax thickness
vs. accelerometer mass vs. freq response.
$15 for 4 little containers, but it doesn't take much.
