I'm an EE Student at Penn State. some real advice for getting by here:
1. Matlab
2. TI 92 calaculator

you can probably get away with a degree without matlab, if you dont take any
dsp or controls classes, but the calculator is indispensable.

I'm at the point in my schooling where all the math is actually comming
together. its kinda suprizing. know i know why i had to learn diffeq and
forier transforms my sophmore year.

Now for the soapbox; some advice for our "young people": The world
consists of--students everywhere shudder--word problems. That's what
needs to be taught--how to solve words problems. That's exactly what
they DON'T teach because everybody moans and groans so loud and asks
the primordial question, "will I ever score?--I mean, will we ever
use this stuff in Real Life???" The answer is...not exactly. Not in
the form it's being taught, no.
