PAiA Drum tone board

Hello Jack-

I bought two of the Drum boards many years ago. I built one about ten years
ago and then gave it away when I moved, since the basic functionality seemed
pretty fixed. About nine months ago I dug the other kit out of the workshop
and built it, since the current system needed more voices. This time I
brought out all the jacks and plugs to another panel and "de-normalized" all
the connections, making it an inexpensive little modular voice. The VCO is
a 566 and the VCA an 8038, and the sound is OK. I don't own any commercial
things like the 808 and so can't comment. It is fun having a
linear-response VCO in among the exponentials, and having the input
attenuator change from positive to negative like the Serge modules is quite
useful. I have a picture of the unit back from the photo shop and will put
it up on the web site soon.
