I couldn't agree more.  Sharpie pens are made by a company called Sanford,
they are available in almost every office supply store, even most
supermarkets.  They are handy for many things besides PCB's, I literally
buy them by the carton, and always have some in my shop.  I once bought a 
'resist' pen years ago, I'm sure it was a sharpie pen custom logo'd as a
'resist' pen, it looked identical, except it sold for 5 times the price.
