Ever since the Next Gen Star Trek began I have been convinced the writers have
thumbed trough electronics/physics dictionaries for cool sounding tech terms to
use without really knowing what they meant...My favorite such gaff is Commader
Data, with his 'positronic' brain, ha! As you all know a positron is a
anti-electron, hence without some kind of magnetic bottling or so he would
explode with a huge boom certainly on the scale of a large nuke...besides, what
speed/processing power advantage would be achieved using positrons instead of
electrons anyway? None that I am aware of...now if his brain was a optical
computer, now your talking sense...I allways enjoy pointing this out to hard
core Trekies is drives them nuts! That and insisting that if Data and the
Robot from TV Lost in Space fought, the robot would win via his ability to
electrocute Data...Ha!...I can hear the Robot cry out now as Data approached :
"DANGER, DANGER, BOB MOOG, DANGER!"
