I once programmed a synth in way that 16 white keyboard keys correspond
to the harmonics: the C key gives the fundamental (frequency f), the D
key the 1st harmonic (2*f), the E key the 2nd (3*f) and so on. Almost
any polyphonic synth or sampler that can produce sine waves and is
micro-tunable should be able to do that.
It was fun to play with. I programmed the envelope for slow attack and
release and maximum sustain.
