D is a reference to the type of shaft (or stem which the caps fit onto).  For
example on an ob8 the pots stem end is shaped like a D as opposed to rounded O
(minimoog) or 18 (roland & korg) or 40 tooth serated or gnarled.  D is also
many times call 1/2 moon.

log-log. That is a log of a log law. Used in some tone controls, swept
frequency parametrics, and that sort of thing.
