Release Velocity question

I was wondering if anyone could tell me a few things about Release
Velocity, i.e. how it is
implemented via MIDI, so that I can implement it in my latest MIDI to CV
firmware

As far as I understand, Release Velocity is contained in the velocity byte
when a note-off 
message is sent and, therefore, can only be transmitted via a specific
note-off message.

Am I correct? If not, please put me right....


Hmmmmm... I think that you will be worry. NoteOff messages are not used in
any keyboard controller nor keyboard that I know. Only tone generators has
implemented, but not respond any other parameter, only NoteOn 0x00.

Software sequencers do not use NoteOff messages too. You can only write
your own program to handle NoteOff messages in combination some MIDI
controller ie., use MIDI CC at your keyboard to drive NoteOff values------>
ie., do not use NoteOff, because you can use any CC to voltage converter.
