<< Quick one: I have bunch of pots labelled "20KD", I know A is lin,
B is log, but what is D? (is there C?) >>

Hello Marjan,

"D" taper is a kind of modified Log taper. It is used most often in Japanese
audio devices. Panasonic sells a lot of them - their popular "Audio Taper"
pots are D taper, not A taper. All of the audio taper pots in Mackie mixers
are "D" taper pots. "C" taper usually refers to a reverse Log taper.
