insurance?

If you list your gear on a Homeowners policy and don't take it on the road
(except maybe 10% of the value... if you have $10,000 in listed coverage for
your gear, probably $1000 will be covered "off site)  AND you do not use it
professionally (meaning that a substantial portion of your income is derived
from the use of that gear... you are probably OK with a good appraisal of the
equipment and listing it on your policy. This is the best for serious
hobbyists...

If you are a Pro you need real coverage. I used to have a policy with a
company called Inland Marine... it cost a couple hundred bucks a year for
on/off premesis coverage. But since i never travel with everything... I just
use the rider now.

Check with a good agent... If they doon't know what you are talking about...
then get a GOOD agent...
