I agree. The directions are confusing when it comes to that part. Paia
should really write two separate instruction sheets. One for V/Hz and one
for V/Oct. I hope Simonton is listening...

I think in your case, the answer is No, you dont need V/Hz. V/Hz is only
required for certain rare synths. Most analog synths use V/Oct(1 volt per
octave). So the DAC output goes to the 4051 input.

Look at the directions again more carefully. There is a part where it says
something like:
If you are not going to install the V/Hz board, skip over some steps and
install some jumpers instead.

You put a jumper wire in the place of R32, and another jumper that
essentially shorts the input and output of the daughterboard connector
together.

Not sure what you are asking here... All of them should be standard NPN
transistors though.
