Hi Everyone,

My names Mark Cornell. I'm a new boy in town.
I'm 17 years old, I live in Bournemouth,
South England, and I like synths.

I first became interested in synths when I was
little, as my dad is really into Rick Wakeman
and ELP. He used to play his vinal all the time,
and naturally I was drawn to those smooth sounds
that eminated from his Hi-fi. It was Rick Wakeman's
journey to the centre of the earth that did it for
me.

Anyway, having sought after synths for years,
and not got anywhere, I got a KORG N364 as I wanted
to take up the keyboard. About 4 years on, which
is now, I'm pretty good, and I play frequently in
our chruch worship group.

Then, whilst bored, infront of my favourate school
computer, I surfed onto Synth DIY, and here I am.
Just lloking at pictures from various sites of all
these gorgeous home made modulars made me drool.
I was hooked. But what to do? I haven't got a clue
where to start! I got in contact with various people
who recomended signing up here, and also looking
at the ASM-1 and the Fatman from PaIA.

So, here I am. Can you guys help? I'd be really
interested to hear from anyone else who lives in
England, but also with anyone who can help me get
to grips with the basics. I have a limmited
understanding of electronics. I have a GCSE in
electronics if you know what that is, and I am
studying A-Level physics. I hope to do Music
Technology and Audio Systems at University.

Oh yes, and I use a Mac.

Thanks for your help.

Mark.
