I have experienced that such circuits with strong feedback
(oscillators have feedback) have often difficulties to find the initial
solution. Sometimes it helps, no allmost allways it helps to simulate
the supply as a ramp from 0 to max in some fractions of a us.

Spice based simulators won't even get out of "reset" if simulating 
a digital circuit like a cpu without that ramping.
