Strange mixer inputs

I had this exact same problem with a monitor amp at a college radio station
I volunteer at. We swore something in the amp must be fried, but it turns
out it was in the monitors!

Apparently, these big monitor speakers have a fuse and a mini light bulb for
protection. The fuse was fine, but one of the light bulbs was marginal! I am
not sure electrically what the light bulb is being used for, but the problem
was tracked down to that and replacing it did the trick!

I dont know if that helps you with your problem any, but does it have any
mini light bulbs inside?
