Static?? Me???

I just got my hands on the last parts of the theremin 144. Now i'll have to
put it together. One thing bothers me about it though: the LP2951ACN comes
in a flashy package with a "don't touch" sign on it. Probably the static
energy thing, i figured. I already posses one of those wrist-wrap-thingies,
now which is the proper way to use it? And which ways are even more
practical??
Do i connect this thing to 220 AC? 380 directly? Get along some innocent
victims?
Seriously, connect it to the mass of the circuit or something? Ground?
Help me out.
Next question. Are there any standards for writing wavetables on eeprom?
And why are there multiple inputs on a VCO? Do they just sum the input
values? Haven't really had the time to figure it out. This is the easiest way.
And questions i'm still stuck with because my mailbox was joking around:
Voltage standards for pitch bend, modulation, output of guitars, mics,
line, modules?
Thanks
roel
