:::Hello!
:::
:::
:::I'm new in this list. My name's Alex, come from Switzerland and I'm 18 years
:::old. (young? :-)
:::I've planed to build an analog synth, somewhat similar to a Minimoog or the
:::Phattitron (Tube Synth).
:::So I've saw many schematics from the different modules up to now. But I've
:::still one problem:
:::
:::The Keyboard
:::------------
:::
:::
:::So I've a few questions:
:::
:::-How can I get a useable keyboard for my homebuilt synth?
:::-Should I use the keyboard of an old commercial keyboard?
:::-Or can I build the keys myself from wood or an old piano?
:::
:::
:::What do you think is the best way?

I'd say: get a midi2voltage converter and use any cheap (used) synth,
or synths that you allready have.

-the mechanical construction of a keyboard is neither cheap nor easy.
-the industrial synth will have pitch bend and maybe aftertouch
-midi has it's limitations (discretisation) , but these will not
 be important for your application
-you can use a computer for note i/o
-midi becomes harmfull if you want something different, like the Trautonium
 string, or like Theremin control. In this case diy really makes sense.
