As much as I didn't want to here stories like that, I feel much better for
having heard it. I stopped pretty much as soon as I saw the blue stuff
coming up out of the hole. There wasn't that much dust around. Grinding it
away with a dremel sounds a lot worse and you're here to tell us about it.

Beryllium oxide. Just say no.
