Okay, I agree with you all here (I'm a vinyl-a-holic myself), but people at
record pressing plants will disagree with you (or at least they did with
us). We recently pressed a 12" EP and it sounds a lot *WORSE* than the CD
master that we sent to the plant (in our opinion, maybe we were expecting to
sound better!). I am guessing that this is mostly our part since we don't
know how to master for vinyl; but the engineer told us that the vinyl will
never sound as good as our "master" CD does because of "artifacts" inherit
in electronic/synthesized music.
Can anyone with experience give us some tips on mastering our tracks so they
*DO* sound better on vinyl? Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but I'm at a
loss and had to ask.
