On both the SH-101 and MC-202, the CV input is quantized by the CPU (to 1/2 
steps).  I don't have an explanation for your being able to play the voice 
while loading from tape.  Clever Roland "multitasking" firmware?

Nevertheless, the CV inputs on the 101 and 202 do not directly feed the 
oscillator, and thus, will not follow continuous pitch bending or external 
modulation.

It's easy to add a legitimate CV input to either unit, though.
